I Need Some Ideas
Ok, Mark will be home in about 7 weeks and I need to start thinking about a welcome home sign to hang on the fences along the highway in town. It's a big thing down here. Most people use fabric paint and bed sheets. I would have to make the letters pretty big so that the sign can be read from the street but not too big that I have to use 5 sheets. I am so not creative. Last time he came home I had my cousin make a sign for me (she and her husband own a sign factory). I want to try to make one on my own this time...I think it's part of the fun of the homecoming. The thing I need is a cute saying or something that will catch some attention. As a last resort I will do the plain old Welcome Home, We missed you...Any ideas?? Let me know!! Thanks for all the help!!!

That's awesome..I'll be trying to think up something..'What's up doc! Welcome home!' with carrots or something bugs bunnyish...but that's not cool, lol. I'm too little kidish. Do you have a chainlink fence on your way home from where you're picking him up? You could do the styrofoam cup thing and put his name, or 'we love mark' or something along with doing a banner...
I'll keep thinking..
Sorry, April. I read this message a few days ago, but I haven't been able to think of anything good. Could you possibly get a picture of three of you together made into an iron-on transfer that you could put on the sheet? Or maybe a pic of Noah kissing his the cut-out of his daddy. And then say-- "Daddy's home"--or, well, you can probably think of a better saying that would be cute with that kind of image. Just one thought...
I also think Ash's idea of the styrofoam cups is cool. (you can type in "spirit fence" in google images to see one) They used to do these in Hereford so that when the team came home from a game, the highway and streets were full of messages to greet them.
