Happy Halloween!
What did you all do to celebrate?
Poor Scott had to go to work, but the rest of us went to a neighborhood potluck, and then went out trick or treating as a huge group. I had my sister take my four older kids with her out door to door while I took my youngest home to bed! I handed out glow bracelets instead of Candy. I am currently trying to eat zero sugar right now, to improve my health this winter. So why buy candy I can't eat, right? We packed all the kids' candy away in a giant tin, and they'll all be allowed to have 1 treat a day. The older they get, the more they want to keep it all in their rooms...but the last time we tried that, it was a disaster! It's no fun trying to get sticky candy out of the rug! And there is no way to explain to the 3 year old that she can't eat everyone else's candy whenever she wants before breakfast. I'm a control freak, I know.
My camera is broken, so I have no pictures to post. :(
I was Pocohontas for Scott's work party, but I was too stressed on Halloween to bother getting dressed up. Dressing 5 kids up was enough work!
Christopher was a mad scientist, strange chemical test tubes and all.
Dorathy was Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Courtney was Sleeping Beauty (but she really wanted to be Princess Peach from Nintendo world)
Angel was Tinker Bell
Julianna was a ladybug.
Next year Scott wants to go out trick or treating with the kids in his bee keepers suit, and dress Julianna up as a bee. That will be cute!
If I ever figure out how to post videos from our camera, I'll put on a clip me and the kids did. At our Ward's Halloween potluck, we had a lip sync. The kids and I performed "I love my Pancreas" by Weird Al....it was a hoot!
Post what you guys did for Halloween? Can't wait to hear!
Love you guys and miss you all,
Laura & Scott

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. And the glow bracelets are a good idea. I wanted to buy pencils or something, but then I figured I'd be known as the mean lady who doesn't give candy. I eat plenty of sugar--but I also was taken aback at how much junk some of those kids were hauling around.
