And We're Moving To.....

This afternoon I was peacefully reading a book on the couch when my cell phone began to ring. I did not recognize the number and wasn't expecting any calls so it was ignored....Then I received the voice message.

It was our Peace Corps Recruiter: "Hi Ashlie, we have a placement for you and Justin. Give me a call when you get this, I'll try getting ahold of Justin on his cell."

I was ecstatic! I wanted to call Justin (who is on a Bachelor trip to Ruidoso, NM) but it was busy. I knew he was on the phone with the Recuiter. So I had to wait...and wait...after 4 whole minutes I called Justin again. Still busy...

Then my phone rang and it was Justin telling me we are going to CENTRAL ASIA.

...Not what we were planning, but I am so excited all the same!! Central Asia is probably the region I know the least. But I want to learn everything about it! This is where we are going to be spending 2 years of our live serving! We leave beginning of June 2010.

For those of you wondering where in Central Asia we might be going (I am included in this), here is a list of countries Peace Corps is currently active in (and could be a possibility for our new home):

Turkmenistan
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyz Republic
Georgia
Azerbaijan
Armenia

I am so excited I don't know what to do with myslef! Once we learn more we will let you know-- right now we only have limited information.

More to come!

Hooray! I have some friends from Armenia--that country has been through some tough times. You will do a lot of good wherever you go.

Glad you finally know now! I know waiting have been killing you both! But even though it's not where you would have chosen, you and your hubby will have amazing experiences together. It would be great wherever you went!
