Thank goodness for a Dr. in the house!

Nothing like putting your kidos to bed and finally having a moment to relax and then you hear crying and see blood coming out of your baby's nose. Samantha put a BIG green bead up her nose after we had tucked her in bed. She said she found it on the floor. After much bribing and pinning her down Rhett got it out. We were packing up to go the the Children's hospital and the thought of her having to be put under was so scary, so I asked Rhett to try one more time. Samantha was hysterical and thrashing so bad when he would get a hold of the bead, with the forceps, she would move and we would be back to square one. Well, we said a little prayer and calmed her down and had her concentrate on blowing it out. (which did nothing to move the bead...it was stuck way up there.) So, I bribed her with ice cream and a new toy horse. I was trying anything at this point to not have to go to the hospital. When I said she could have ice cream I was talking about ice cream that we had in the freezer. Somehow in her mind she felt she deserved ice cream from the ice cream shop at 9:45pm. Well, needless to say she is ok and had some tasty ice cream.

Ooooh, the experiences our children create! This reminds me of the time 2 years ago when Courtney stuck a kix in each ear and had to go to the dr. to get them flushed out. SOOOO frustrating. And then a few months later she was putting popcorn kernels up her nose! Some children take more than one time to learn, I guess. I still worry about what Courtney is going to do next! Hopefully Samantha won't be putting anything else up her nose anytime soon!
