Vermillion

It is long past time for us to post some pictures of our visit to Vermillion, where we'll be moving in June. Don't let the snow on the ground scare you--these were taken in the first week of February. Look at how bright and wide the sky is!
This first set was taken just outside of Vermillion, on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River. South Dakota is across the bridge (which is right behind my head in the first shot). From here you can see that our corner of South Dakota is pretty flat.

Next up--the bustling downtown of Vermillion. This is Main Street, and the "downtown" area is about 2 blocks long, with a couple of small movie theaters, restaurants, banks, etc.

And the house:

Just kidding! You sure see some crazy things when you're house-hunting. The house we're buying is below:

come on, Ash--knotty pine ceiling (most of the house was covered in the stuff), glass block background, and cooper inlay on the ceiling, too--all in a skinny narrow basement "theatre" room? This was one odd house.
