Things have been crazy busy here in Dallas...the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS Test) is next week-- this is the ultimate assessment of my first year as a teacher and I. AM. NERVOUS. The principal has already assigned another teacher to be in the room with me while I administer the test because I know I'm going to pass out at some point. I've worked so hard with these kids-- it's been a struggle. So, that being said-- the day after TAKS I will be at a wonderful spa in Southlake getting a new hairdo and a much needed MASSAGE!
Besides that--Justin and I have our interview for Peace Corps the 2nd week of March! It's been almost a year and a half in the making and we are soooo ready! We officially started applying in Sept 08 and the application process has really kept us on our toes with resumes, essays, recommendations after recommendations, national background checks, fingerprinting, questionnaires, a few hours on the phone with recruiters, and so on...the sad thing is that it's not going to get any easier--but life is all just an experience and we want to make it our biggest adventure! I'll keep you updated.
On the back-burner we've been training for a half marathon. I say it like that because we have been lenient on ourselves with the training...but regardless our half is March 15th so ready or not...Lisa, you'd be disappointed with the training, we have not been as dedicated as we could be, but I blame it all on stress from TAKS.
I am ready for spring break! (17 days...not that I'm counting or anything)

wow ash! the peace corps huh? that does sound like an adventure for sure. love your glasses....and good luck on your 1/2 marathon! (matt just did one in Sedona about 3 weeks ago) You guys will do great.

Everyone is running races! Eesh. Good luck with yours. Is it during your spring break? At least then you can take time for recovery...I know I would need it.

Wow, Ashlie! You have been busy! BEST OF LUCK WITH THE TESTS!!! I think the Peace Corps will be awesome, I can't wait to hear what kind of experiences you will have through them. Love the update!
