We're Employed!

Finally, for all of you who doubted that we would ever secure gainful employment--Chad got two offers for tenure-track assistant professor positions last week. It made for a pretty exciting Thanksgiving! In the end, we chose The University of South Dakota over UT San Antonio because they offered some great things, and the university community seemed to be genuine, warm, and welcoming. Of course, we have to move to the middle of no-where (actually, north of the middle of no-where) to get that kind of treatment, but it's worth it for us. Part of the deal is that I'll be working as an adjunct there too, meaning that I'll be able to teach as many courses as I want, when I want.

I know a lot of you have been looking for an excuse to visit one of the most under-appreciated states in the country--well, you don't need one anymore! You can stay with us! Seriously, although the location leaves much to be desired, we feel very, very blessed with the way this all has worked out. After nearly 7 years of marriage and even more years of school, WE'VE GOT JOBS! Now only the minor detail of the dissertation remains...

Yay! How exciting! I am very happy for you two--and will supply empathy for the cold winters when needed. :)

Great news!
Just so you know....Samantha has said, "bless Nita and Chad" for every prayer since you left. So feel very blessed in your life! The kidos had a blast with you here! We really enjoyed it too. I love having family for visits. So all are welcome to visit if you want to come to the cold tundra land.

Dora--so Samantha does know my name! Are you sure she wasn't praying for Chad and "silly billy"?

Can't wait to hear more details as things progress.
